Golf Pros Tip of the Month

The profession of golf is a beautiful thing, but the reality is, there are many golf pros putting in 60 + hours a week with only one day off.  I personally know several golf pros within 30 miles from home that struggle to make ends meet.  You guys know who I'm referring to, it's not the seasoned veteran that's been around a while.  They've figured it out.

Most guys in Golf never thought about sales.  I'm a golf professional why would I want to sell anything?  Well, here's the deal, you've got the easiest place in the world to sell.  The client has desposable income, they're in a good mood becasue they're playing golf, they belong to community groups, charities, corporations, etc.  They're on your turf!  We're talking about the upper echelon of society.  Plus, we're not talking about shoving products down their throats, wer'e talking about conversation.  The golf pro spends valuable time in front of these people.   You develop relationships with these potential clients.  Why not ask which charity events they're playing in this year.  Who's heading up that tournament?  Do they know them personally?  Perhaps they are running the tournament.

Now, I want you to think about the Promotional Distributor & Golf Management companies for just a moment.  There are over 50,000 promotional distributors throughout the country.  These are professional sales people and they are cutting into YOUR business every day.  The reality is the Golf Pro can easily become a Promotional Distributor and or Golf Management Company.

(Give us a call if you want to know how. believe it or not, you can start a promotional distributorship for practically nothing. )

Our company sells the Covert Cooler to hundreds of tournaments per year.  We sell towels, balls, shirts, caps, etc, etc, etc.  However, the fact of the matter is, we are selling them to Promotional Distributors 10 times to 1 over Golf Pros.  Here's the worst part.  The Promotional Distributor hires the golf course to do all the work setting up and running the Charity/Corporate Golf tournament.  Guess who ends up doing most of the work.   Yep, you guessed it, THE GOLF PROFESSIONAL.

In many cases I see the 25 year old golf pro running around servicing his clients making $8 per hour never realizing the pot of gold that's in front of him.  If you spend a little time talking to your clients about their charity events you'll uncover a lot of valuable informaiton.  Informaiton that these promotional distributor spend thousands of dollars trying to uncover.  It's right under you nose, just take a sniff, it's FREE!

Here's a perfect example and I'm going to use the Covert Cooler as the product of choice.  We have a golf pro here in the Fort Collins area that everyone absolutely loves to death.  He does it all.  I watched hime for two seasons cater to our golf league like no other.  I'm telling you, the guy is awesome.  Great personality and everyone knows you call him to get special treatment like getting a tee time when there isn't one available.  You guys know what I'm talking about.

He takes care of us.  Here's one guy that knows everyone in community.  These people are the top echelon of Fort Collins.  Over beers on night I asked him a question, had he ever heard of our Covert Cooler product.  He had not.  But it intrigued him.  I told him I'd get him a sample and to show it around to the Tournament Directors when they need a tee prize.  I told him I'd give him 10% of the Sale if he simple showed it to people.

Needless to say he sold 5 tournaments in the first month.  I had written checks of over $1000 directly to him.  Today, he has his own mini promotioanl distributorship.  He's no longer an $8.00 per hour guy.

You are in a prime industry.  There are thousands of Charity & Corporate Golf tournaments used to raise money for hundreds of causes.  Do the math.  If there are 150 players and each player is designated a $10 tee prize.  That's $1500 that must be spent on tee prizes.  It's budgeted in, so all you have to do is show the tournament director unique gifts.

OK, how do I get the products?  Here's the best part.  For practically nothing you can become a promotional distributor.  You'll have access to THOUSANDS of products and suppliers, like us here at Rite Clicks, LLC.  You don't stock anything!  You take the industry catalogs to your clients, they pick out what they want, you call in the order.  The supplier will print or embrider the product for you and drop ship it to your customer.  You collect the money from your customer and pay off the supplier.

It's really that simple.  If you'd really like to learn how to do this, give us a call.  I'll personally walk you through it.  For the Golf Professional, it's like taking candy from a baby.

It's in the bag!
